Terms of Service
Last updated: 20 July 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of this website and your enquiries, quotes, orders or bookings with Rathke Corner Books. Please read them before using the site. They complement, and do not exclude, mandatory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
1. Identity and contact
The site and services are provided by Rathke Corner Books, Rathkes gate 12, 0558 Oslo, Norway, telephone +47 22 71 48 06, email [email protected]. These terms apply unless we agree separate written terms with you for a particular order or project.
2. Website use
This website provides general information about our business and book enquiries, orders, collection arrangements and related customer service. Content is supplied in good faith, but availability, prices, descriptions, opening hours and other information may change. Nothing on the site is a binding offer unless we clearly say so in writing. You must use the site lawfully and must not interfere with its security, attempt unauthorised access, introduce harmful code, scrape it at a disruptive scale, or use it in a way that infringes another person's rights.
3. Enquiries, quotes and orders
Sending an enquiry does not create a contract. We may ask for further information before providing a quote, and a quote may state its validity period, price, scope, timing, deposit, collection or delivery arrangements and any assumptions. A contract is formed only when we confirm acceptance in writing or otherwise clearly agree to provide the relevant goods or services. We may decline an enquiry where we cannot reasonably fulfil it, subject to applicable law.
You are responsible for supplying accurate contact, order and delivery or collection information. Please notify us promptly if circumstances change. Prices, taxes, payment timing, cancellations and any special conditions will be confirmed with the relevant quote or order. If an obvious pricing or description error occurs, we may correct it before acceptance or offer you the choice to proceed on corrected terms.
4. Consumer rights
Nothing in these terms limits rights available under mandatory Norwegian consumer protection law. Where a statutory cooling-off, withdrawal, cancellation, repair, replacement, refund or other consumer right applies, it continues to apply. The availability and exercise of such rights can depend on the nature of the goods or service, whether it is made to order, whether performance has begun at your request, and other legal conditions. Contact us promptly if you wish to discuss a cancellation or problem so we can explain the applicable process.
5. Changes, cancellation and performance
We will use reasonable care in delivering agreed goods or services. If you ask to change or cancel an accepted order or booking, we will consider the request and tell you whether any reasonable costs, timing changes or legal rights apply. We may need to change timing or availability for circumstances outside our reasonable control, such as supplier delays, illness, safety concerns, transport disruption or events beyond our control. In that event, we will take reasonable steps to notify you and agree an appropriate alternative where possible.
6. Intellectual property
The website's text, photographs, branding, layout and other content are owned by or licensed to Rathke Corner Books and are protected by intellectual-property laws. You may view and print reasonable extracts for personal, non-commercial use. You must not copy, publish, adapt, distribute or use our content, marks or images commercially without prior written permission, except where the law permits it.
7. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from use of this informational site. We do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability arising from mandatory consumer protections, fraud or intentional misconduct. Any limitation applies only to the extent lawful and does not affect your statutory rights.
8. Privacy and third-party links
Our handling of personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy. This site may link to third-party resources for convenience. We do not control their content, availability or privacy practices, and a link is not an endorsement. Review their own terms and notices before using them.
9. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Norway, subject to mandatory consumer protections and any mandatory rules on jurisdiction that apply to you. Please contact us first with any concern at [email protected] or using the details above; we will try to resolve it fairly and promptly.
